The Breathe Project was initiated by Hudson Guild to generate responses from members of our community to the killing of George Floyd, and the subsequent protests for equality and social justice which have taken place all over the world since then. The installation contains paintings, photographs, signs, poems, and posters --- all of which were contributed by over 40 people from the Guild's community. As can be expected, some of the work is angry, while other pieces express positive ideas for change. All of it is passionate and heartfelt, created by a wide variety of people of different ages and races.
The Breathe Project has been installed in the windows at Hudson Guild's Elliott and Fulton Centers nd will be on view 24 hours a day/7 days a week through Labor Day, 2020.
